What is the Equilytics Mood Index?

The Equilytics Mood Index is a daily 0-100 reading of how Indian stock market participants are feeling, built from six signals: foreign investor (FII) flows, India VIX volatility, Nifty 50 price momentum, market breadth (how many stocks are rising versus falling), the balance of 52-week highs versus lows, and how gold is performing relative to the Nifty 50. Each signal is converted to a 0-100 score by ranking today's reading against the last 250 trading sessions, then averaged. A score near 0 means Extreme Fear; near 100 means Extreme Greed. The exact formulas, data sources and update schedule are on the methodology page.

The index updates live every two minutes while the market is open, and settles into a final "close" reading after FII/DII data arrives each evening. It is a descriptive signal about current market sentiment, not a prediction and not investment advice -- Equilytics is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst.

What is the Equilytics Mood Index?

A daily 0-100 score of Indian stock market sentiment, built from six signals. See the full breakdown above and the formulas on the methodology page.

It's the same idea -- fear versus greed in markets -- applied to Indian data (FII flows, India VIX, Nifty breadth, gold vs Nifty) rather than US inputs.

How often does it update?

Every 2 minutes while the market is open, with a final close reading after FII/DII data arrives in the evening.

Is a low score a buy signal?

No. It's a description of current sentiment, not a recommendation. Equilytics is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst.
