What Does NSE Top Gainers Mean?
NSE top gainers are stocks that have risen the most in percentage terms compared with their previous close. They are useful for spotting momentum, but they are not automatic buy signals.
How Percentage Gain Is Calculated
The basic formula is: current price minus previous close, divided by previous close, multiplied by 100. A stock moving from Rs 100 to Rs 105 is up 5 percent.
Check Volume
A price move with strong volume is usually more meaningful than a thinly traded spike.
Check Sector
If the entire sector is strong, the move may have broader support.

Earnings, orders, regulation, and management updates can explain sudden moves.
